KHERSON, DECEMBER, 25th, 2008, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – Kherson Oblast Council made a decision to work out Wind-Power Engineering Development Program by 2011, IA Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

It was declared in the decree of the 34 Session of the Oblast Council “On Wind-Power Engineering Development Program in Kherson Oblast”.

As it is stated in the document, “having considered the suggestions of scientific development and production center “PlanECO” LTD (Kyiv) and with the purpose enlarging the amount of renewable energy sources in the Oblast’s energetic balance by making proper conditions for development of wind-power sphere and concomitant industries, and stimulation of energetic development of the oblast”, the Oblast Council created a workgroup to coordinate and participate in elaboration of the mentioned program under control of Head of Kherson Oblast Council Vladimir Demekhin, widening its supposed staff.

The Oblast Council entrusted Department of Regional Economy, Municipal Property, Privatization, Investment and Resort-Tourist Activity of the executive apparatus of the Oblast Council in cooperation with “PlanECO” LTD and the workgroup o work out the program.

The session also addressed local councils of all levels with an appeal to assist “PlanECO” LTD in organization of measuring, survey, and building within the program at the territories of those councils, including land provision for the stated purposes.

As Head of Kherson Oblast Council Vladimir Demekhin later explained, “PlanECO” LTD are planning to build 5 wind power-stations in Prichernomors’ka, Priazovs’ka and Prisivashs’ka coastal areas with the power up to 100 MW.

According to Mr. Demekhin, 3 – 4 years are required for the realization of the project and investment of 2 milliard UAH.
