The amount of cargo shipments by railway transport in Kherson Oblast cut by 52 percent in five months of 2009

KHERSON, JUNE, 23rd, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – In five month of 2009 the amount of cargo shipments by railway transport in Kherson Oblast fell down by 52,1 percent as compared with the same period in 2009, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency was informed about it today, 23 June at the Sate Committee of Statistics in Kherson Oblast.

According to the source, the shipment of chemical an mineral fertilizers reduced by 93,3 percent, oil products – 73,4 percent, cement – 71,8 percent, scrap ferrous materials – 50,9 percent, building cargoes – 8,8 percent.

However there was an increase in the shipment of bread – 28,7 percent, and ore – 0,2 percent.

Average daily discharge of railway carriages decreased by 11,8 percent.
