Memorial complex to the fallen paratroopers opened in Nikolaev

Nikolaev, 29 AUGUST 2016, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie — In Nikolaev opened a memorial complex to the fallen paratroopers, the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

It was reported to the agency today, August 29, in the press service of the Brigade Airborne Forces of Ukraine.

As noted in the press service, yesterday, August 28, on the territory of 79 separate airborne assault brigade of the Airborne Force has held a solemn ceremony devoted to the opening of the Memorial complex to soldiers of the brigade who died in the defence of the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. The event was held with the participation of paratroopers, family members and relatives of the victims, representatives of local and regional authorities, the public, volunteers and clergy.

The press service specified that during the years 2014-2016, 57 paratroopers of the brigade. gave their lives for the independence of Ukraine. Their exploits forever inscribed in the Book of Remembrance of the military unit, the names forever imprinted in the granite of the memorial complex.

For courage and heroism related to the protection of territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, the soldiers of the military unit, gave their lives for the freedom and future of our country, were awarded posthumously.

The participants laid flowers at the Memorial to the heroes-paratroopers and honored the heroism of the fallen with minute of silence. In their honor, sounded a military salute.
