Cargo turnover at the port of Nikolaev in the first 11 months exceeded 20 million tons

NIKOLAEV, 06 DECEMBER 2016, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie — In January-November the total turnover of the public and private stevedoring companies operating in the territory of Nikolaev seaport amounted to 20 million 282.94 thousand tons, the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

It was reported to the agency today, December 06, in the press-service of the SE «Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority».

The press service reported that, according to operative data, the total turnover at the port for 11 months amounted to 20 mln 282.94 thousand tons, which accounted for 101% of the same period last year.

Liquid cargoes during this period, the port handled 2 million 223.74 thousand tons (144.4% in comparison with January-November 2015); bulk dry cargo —14 million 908.02 thousand tons (97.9%); unitized cargo — 3 million 151.18 thousand tons (94.9%).

REFERENCE: Sea port of Nikolaev is situated on the left Bank of the bend of Yuzhny Bug river, 35 km upstream from the confluence with the Dnieper estuary. The port is connected with the sea, Bugsko-Dneprovsky Limansky channel (BDLK) passing through the Dnepro-Bugsky estuary and Yuzhny Bug river. It starts at Berezan island and extends for 44 miles to Nikolaev port. The channel consists of 13 tribes, 6 of them are in the Dnieper estuary, and the rest on the river Yuzhny Bug. Channel width — 100 m, depth — 11.2 m. navigation in the port lasts all year round
