Navigation draught in the Danube-Black Sea Canal reached 5,85 meters

MYKOLAIV, FEBRUARY, 6th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – The works on construction of the approach canal as well as the levee were being done in 2008 within the realization of the deepening project in the Danube-Black Sea Canal, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

General Director of GE Delta-Pilot Oleksandr Golodnytskyy stated it during his press-conference on the results of the enterprise for 2008 yesterday, 5 February 2009.

According to Mr. Golodnytskyy, navigation fraught equal to 5,85 meters was first reached for the entire history of the canal (2004). As for the end of December 2008, 1 thousand 510 metres of the levee was built.

The works were performed at the expense of the canal fee.
