Foreign delegation on behalf of JICA, visited the Nikolaev port

NIKOLAEV, 17 NOVEMBER 2016, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie — Representatives of the companies PADECO Co. Ltd. and Pacific Consultants Co. Ltd visited the Nikolaev sea port to gather information about the possibilities of further international cooperation, the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

It was reported to the agency today, on November 17, by the press service of the Nikolaev Sea Port administration.

According to the press service, in the framework of the project «Review of data collection system for transport and logistics in the South of Ukraine», launched by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), «PADECO Co., Ltd. and Pacific Consultants Co., Ltd.» was instructed to gather information about the sectors of roads and seaports in the South of Ukraine with the aim of defining possible cooperation, which can become a significant contribution of JICA to establish the economic situation in Ukraine.

Members of the foreign delegation were shown a presentation, during which they got acquainted with the activities of the administration of the Nikolaev port and the GSE «NSTP» (hereinafter — the NSP), the specific geographic location of its facilities, production characteristics of the port terminals, data processing of ships and cargoes on the berths of the NSP, characteristics of road and rail approaches to the NSP.

Special attention was paid to promising investment projects included in the development Plan of the NSP, in particular: Construction of the transshipment complex designed for the terminal No. 8 and construction of a transshipment complex on berth No. 14A. They discussed issues of public-private partnerships (strategy, relevant legislation, experience and current practice/examples of involving the private sector and public-private partnerships).
