•Vessels of 5 m draught pilot through the Bystroye Channel

As of August 26 almost 3 thousand vessels navigated through the Bystroye Channel.

Since the beginning of 2008 6 vessels having draught 5 metres and more navigated through the Bystroye Channel. There have already been three such navigations in 2009. 29 July the Dry Cargo Vessel Amaran (flag of Panama), her draught being exactly 5 m. 20 August it was Dutch Dry Cargo Fensfjord, draught – 5,1 m. M/V RMS BEECK proceeded from Romanian Galati to Greece, her draught being 5 m as well.

The guaranteed navigation draught of the Bystroye Channel reaches 5,5 m. In the end of 2008 the sea approach canal was commissioned navigation draught being 5,85 m. Unfortunately navigation of the vessels with such a draught has been limited by 5 rifts on the river part of the deep water navigation channel.

To ensure safety of navigation on Ukrainian part of the Danube Delta from Izmail to the Bystroye Sleeve through the Kiliya Sleeve 31 May 2007 State Hydrography issued a relevant notification for the seafarers.

•Zorya-Mashproekt makes a step towards Chinese market

People’s Republic fo China is implementing a pilot project of exploitation of a gas-pumping engine produced by Zorya-Mashproekt.

31 August the press-service of Research and Production Complex Zorya-Mashproekt informed, in May 2009 Zorya-Mashproekt signed an agreement with the Institute of Turbines of Harbin, China providing the supply of an engine of DU-80 type with working capacity of 25 Megawatt for the pilot gas-pumping gear developed by the institute. The project is being implemented by Chinese specialists within the framework of its trial exploitation at the local gas pumping station.
