ARM Cuauhtémoc of Mexican Navy has entered Odesa Port and is now free for attendance.

30 July — 4 August, a Mexican Navy training ship Cuauhtémoc, also known as the Ambassador and Caballero Seas, will be docked in Odesa a. Odesa is one of the 16 ports on three continents, that the ship will visit during her training cruise Mediterranean 2011. This is his first visit to Ukraine. The journey began from the port of Acapulco, Mexico, 8 April this year, and will make about 39 thousand kilometres. The ship is the messenger of friendship and goodwill to all peoples of Mexico in the world.

During her stay in the Odesa port, Cuauhtémoc it can be attended by anyone. The ship will be open to the public 30 July from 15:00 till 17:00, 31 July from 10:00 till 20:00, 1—3 August from 10:00 till 20:00. Admission is free.

The permission to enter Ukrainian territorial waters and Odesa sea port was given yesterday, 20 July, by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine № 687-p.

INFORMATION: ARM Cuauhtémoc is a sail training vessel of the Mexican Navy, named for the last Aztec Emperor Cuauhtémoc who was captured and executed in 1525. She is the last of four sister ships built by the Naval Shipyards of Bilbao, Spain, in 1982, all built to a design similar to the 1930 designs of the German firm Blohm & Voss, like Gorch Fock, USCGC Eagle and the NRP Sagres. Like her sister ships, the Colombia's Gloria, Ecuador's Guayas and Venezuela’s Simón Bolívar, Cuauhtémoc is a sailing ambassador for her home country and a frequent visitor to world ports, having sailed over 400,000 nautical miles (700,000 km) in her 23 years of service, with appearances at the Cutty Sark Tall Ships’ Races, ASTA Tall Ships Challenges, Sail Osaka, and others.
