President: I demand privatization of OPP to be transparent and complex

ODESA, SEPTEMBER, 23rd, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko stated he demanded privatization of OPP to be transparent and complex, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

As the agency has been informed today 21 September at the Presidential press-service, Mr. Yushchenko stated it on New York responding to the questions of Ukrainian journalists.

I demand from the government the privatization process to be transparent and complex, President stated.

Mr. Yushchenko emphasized, The present-day events round the privatization process of Odesa Port Plant are going on in the atmosphere of backstage intrigues.

I know what the results f this privatization will be, what bill be the sum to start UAH 4 milliard. The sales will stop at certain price that I dont want to mention.

He also added the show of the OPP privatization reminded him much of the backstage privatization of Kryvorizhstal, which he had to be cancelling some time ago.

Taking into account the courts decisions banning to start privatization of the OPP, the President called the investors not to participate in that show.

In any case, the steps taken 28-29 September towards illegal privatization of the OPP will be cancelled, President declared.

President emphasized he would do his best to put the privatization of the OPP within leagla framework.
