ODESA, SEPTEMBER 11th, 2013, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― I International Conference The image of Odesa in Slavic literatures will be held 12-13 September, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of Odesa National Mechnikov University reported today, 11 September.

According to the information, 12-13 September, Odesa National Mechnikov, Faculty of Philology, Department of Ukrainian literature in conjunction with the Faculty of Philology of the Bilostok University (Poland), Department of philological research East-West of Bilostok University and the Odesa Literary Museum holds I International Scientific Conference The image of Odesa in Slavic literatures.

The opening will take place on September 12 at 10:00 a.m. at the Odesa Literary Museum (2, Lanzheronovskaya Str.).

The conference will run the sections: Literary images of Odesa in the creation of the Slavic writers, The image of Odesa in the imagination of travelers: text and context, Cultural myths of Odesa ― Odesa as a cultural palimpsest.

The conference is attended by representatives of leading research centers of Belarus, Poland, Russia, Ukraine ― about 100 scientists.

In the framework of the conference it is provided an exhibition of publications about Odesa from the M. Gorky Library. A special event will be the presentation of the report-essay My Odesa by the world famous film director, writer Edgardo Cozarinsky (Argentina).
