According to their information, the meeting was held yesterday, 17 April. The Polish delegation was headed by Head of the Chancellery of the President of Poland Jacek Michałowski.

I am delighted to welcome you in the Odesa region. Polish people are our friends, and the Odesa region is always open to for Polish businessmen to invest in our economy. Odesa Regional State Administration, in its turn, guarantees the provision of an favourable environment for investors, which is also required from us by the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovich, said Mr Matviychuk.

The governor also stressed that one of the features of the Odesa region is its frontier status: the region borders on Moldova and Transnistria. In this regard, E. Matviychuk thanked the European Union, Poland being a member country, for EUBAMs fruitful work.

EUBAM is assisting at the boundaries and helps us fight smuggling. We will therefore vote in support of the continuation of the Missions mandate in our territory.
