Turkish envoy and Odesa Governor meet

ODESA, APRIL 18th, 2011, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Governor of Odesa Oblast Eduard Matviychuk has held a meeting with Consul General of Turkey to Odesa Mr Murat Tamer, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The meeting was held today, 18 April, at the building of Odesa Regional State Administratuion.

Other participants of the meeting on behalf of Odesa Regional Authorities were: Vice Governor of Odesa Ms Lyudmyla Varavva, Head of the Foreign Economic and European Integration Department, Odesa Regional State Administration Sergiy Tetyukhin.

Turkey was represented at the meeting by the Assistant Consul General of Turkey in Odesa Valentina Aksagat-Berbat.

“Odesa regional authorities a grateful to you, Mr Consul General, for the work that you have been doing in Odesa for these 3 years as Consul General. We hope that those who come after you, will be doing your work at the same high level as you, to preserve the Ukrainian-Turkish relations, and specifically the relations with the Odesa region. So that these relations are aimed at the development of joint economic projects, culture, so that the Black Sea could unite us”, said Matviychuk.

“I believe that we need more effort in order the relationships between Ukraine and Turkey, the Odesa region and Turkey can develop further. Since you are now going to work in Turkey, I want to ask you to explain to your businessmen that they can invest in the economy of the Odesa region, and we in our turn, will ensure safety of their funds”, said the Governor.
