ODESA, APRIL 22nd, 2011, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE Yesterday, 21 April, Airforce Command South and Turkish Control and Notification Centre signed an agreement about installation and servicing of the Information exchange system, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency has been informed about it today, 22 April, at the press service of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

According to the press service, the technical agreement in the presence of the NATO Liaison Office in Ukraine, Colonel Thomas Strihasha was signed by the chief radio Forces Command, the Air Force of Ukrainian Armed Forces, Major-General Artur Artemenko and director of operations of the Air Force in Turkey Major General Atilla Gül.

We were making our way to signing this agreement for nearly three years. This agreement provides an opportunity to get information on air situation in the Black Sea to the Turkish counterparts to exchange information about the situation in the air in real time, respond more quickly to force majeure, to solve any problems should they arise in the Airspace, Mr Artemenko said.

In his view, the implementation of technical agreement will not only strengthen the friendly relations between Ukraine and Turkey, but also positively influence the situation to the security of the Black Sea region.

For the practical implementation of this Agreement was procured and installed the necessary equipment, personnel, which it will service have been trained, including language. Therefore, the practical benefit from the implementation of the Agreement we learn in the near future, Mr Artemenko added.
