Anton Kisse meets with MEPs

ODESSA, FEBRUARY 27th, 2015, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — MP, President of the Association of Bulgarians in Ukraine Anton Kisse has met with Members of European Parliiament in Brussels (Belgium), Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of Anton Kisse noted today, February 27.

According to the press service, MP of Ukraine had a working visit to Brussels at the invitation of MEP from the Bulgarian political party “Gerb” Andrey Kovachev.

During the working visit A. Kisse held a number of meetings with European deputies — representatives of Bulgaria, Estonia, Lithuania, Hungary, Croatia, Great Britain, and discussed the situation in Ukraine.

In particular, Anton Kisse met the representative of IMRO (Bulgarian National Movement) in the European Parliament Angel Dzhambazki, Deputy Chairman of European Conservatives and Reformists Group Geoffrey Van Order and ECR Group Coordinator and Conservative Spokesman on Foreign Affairs and Human Rights Charles Tannock. During the meeting discussed the situation in Ukraine, in particular the situation of Bulgarian community in Ukraine.

“Anton Kisse told European colleagues about the difficult economic situation in Ukraine, growing unemployment and inflation that creates social tensions in the country. The issue of the 4th wave of mobilization in Ukraine, which, according to People’s Deputy, has a negative impact on the mood of Ukrainian citizens, was also touched upon. The need of reform and decentralization of power in Ukraine, the fight against corruption, the impact of the devaluation of the national currency, the financial support of the EU and the IMF in order to stabilize the Ukrainian economy were discussed. In conversation also touched upon the issues of the relationship of the Bulgarian diaspora in Ukraine to what is happening. He emphasized that «there are not any mass separatist sentiments among the Bulgarian diaspora out of the question, the majority of representatives of the Bulgarian community supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine,” the press service said.

In turn, representatives of the European Conservatives and Reformists Group said that the priority of the parliamentary group is a speedy resolution of the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, as well as a desire to support national minorities in the protection of their rights.

At the end of the meeting, A. Kisse gave an official invitation to visit Odessa to two British Conservatives — specialists in foreign affairs policy, deputies with a serious track record.
