EBRD grants up to EUR 10 thousand to small and medium-scale businesses

ODESA, OCTOBER 4th, 2011, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — The European Bank of Reconstruction and Development grants up to EUR 10 thousand to small and medium-scale businesses, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

EBRD Project Coordinator in Ukraine, Pavel Tretyak announced today, 4 October.

“The project envisages aid — a one-time financial assistance to enterprises. The amount of the grant can reach EUR 10 thousand for a project, but no more than 75% of an overall project cost. This is a one-time non-repayable financial aid”, said the project coordinator.

“If a company meets the basic criteria, it is most likely that we will help this project. Our focus group are the businesses that are not familiar or not quite familiar with the consulting. By means of our projects, we acquaint them with professional advice, and it is expected that after a successful implementation of our programme in the future the company use professional consulting without us”, added Mr Tretyak.

IFORMATION: The European Bank of Reconstruction and Development is the largest investor in the world. This investment institution was founded in 1991. Today the EBRD uses the tools of investment to help build market economies and democracies in countries from central Europe to central Asia. It is owned by 61 countries and two intergovernmental institutions. The EBRD is in active cooperation with the city of Odesa (Ukraine). It provides project financing for banks, industries and businesses, both new ventures and investments in existing companies. It also works with publicly owned companies, to support privatization, restructuring state-owned firms and improvement of municipal services.
