Cargo turnover at the port of Ust-Danube for 7 months amounted to 17.5 thousand tons

Odessa, 04 AUGUST 2016, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie -- In January-July, the total turnover of companies operating in the Ust-Danube seaport totaled 17.5 thousand tons, the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

It was reported to the agency today, August 4, in a press-service of the SE «Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority».

The press service reported that according to operative data, the total cargo turnover at the port in January-June amounted to 17.5 thousand tons, which is 73.3% more than in the same period of 2015, when turnover reached 7.3 thousand tons.

Liquid cargoes during the period, the port handled 6.8 thousand tons (618,2% against Jan-Jul 2015); bulk dry cargo — 10.7 thousand tons (118,9%).

REFERENCE: Ust-Danube port is located in the southern part of Zhebriyansky Bay of the Black sea. The port was built in the late 1970's, primarily to serve the LASH transport system. Today the port specializes on the transshipment from sea vessels to river for further transport on the Danube and vice versa.

The total area of the port area -- 15 hectares, water area -- 60 hectares. Marine approach canal to the port of Ust-Danube has a length of 7 km and leads to three anchorages for large vessels where the working depth is now lost. Another connecting channel length of 1.5 km stretching from the bucket port up to the horn Prorva.
