207-meter European cruise ship called at Odessa sea port

Odessa, 20 OCTOBER 2016, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie — Today, October 20, at the port of Odessa called a veteran of the European cruise fleet — 207-metre ship Boudiсca, the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

It was reported to the agency today, on October 20, by the press service of the Odessa Sea Port administration.

According to the press service, today at 8:30 am at the pier of Odessa Sea Commercial Port moored cruise ship Boudicca (maximum length — 207 m, flag — Bahamas). On board there are more than 700 tourists, mainly nationals of the Kingdom of Great Britain.

The ship arrived from Romania Constanta and today at 23:00 departs to the Russian port of Sochi.

In Odessa, for the tourists ordered an extensive program of exploring the historical and cultural sights of the city.

REFERENCE: Veteran passenger Boudicca navy ship was built in 1973 in Finland. Initially, the ship was called the Royal Viking Sky. Under this name, and the Norwegian flag for the first time it has gone to Odessa.

Since 1991, the liner has repeatedly changed its name and flag. In 2005, in the shipyard in Hamburg, the ship was rebuilt. Its maximum length is increased from 177.7 to 206.96 meters and a seating capacity — from 536 up to 900 people. After the reconstruction, the ship was renamed the 10th time and became known as Boudicca — in honor of the Queen's Celtic opposing the Romans.
