The press service of the Administration of the Ports of Ukraine noted today, 19 December.

According to the information, on December 18, on the eve of St. Nicholas Day — the patron saint of sailors and protector of children, the Head of the Administration of the Odessa Sea Port Mikhail Sokolov and Chairman of the Trade Union of the Port Vladimir Zaykov together with the representatives of youth organizations visited the childrens specialized sanatorium Lyustdorf in which today there are more than 260 children with disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Dockers congratulated sanatorium patients with the upcoming holiday and gave gifts from the company. Children do not remain in debt they gave guests homemade souvenirs and postcards.

The staff of our company over the years has helped many children's institutions: boarding schools, health centers, orphanages. Now, despite the economic difficulties in the country, port workers tend not to change this tradition. Especially now, when the charity becomes very popular. Budgetary organizations, such as this center, in the current situation are in need of support, M. Sokolov said.

B. Zaykov in turn added that the action in the center is only one among the activities that the administration, union activists of the youth organization planned for the New Year and Christmas holidays. Charity Marathon continues almost until mid-January. The main focus is on helping children.
