NIKOLAEV, NOVEMBER, 12TH, 2008, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – The mayor of Nikolaev Vladimir Chaika congratulated the liberators of Kiev from German-fascist invaders at the 30th session of the city council which was held yesterday, on November 11th, IA “Context-Prichernomorie” correspondent reports.

According to the words of V. Chaika just recently the whole Ukraine was celebrating the anniversary of Kiev liberation from German-fascist invaders. As it turned out the veterans that took part in the liberation of Ukrainian capital in the war years live in Nikolaev.

As the chairman of the city organization of veterans Ivan Lutikov told the veterans are getting less year after year. Just 3 three years ago there were 40 liberators of Kiev living in Nikolaev. Now they are 15. The city mayor congratulated each of them personally at the session, gave them flowers and letters of commendation.

In return words of gratitude the veterans emphasized that in this hard time attention and awareness that they were remembered and honored was dear to them as ever more.
