ODESSA, NOVEMBER, 18TH, 2008, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – During 9 months of 2008 205 children that were on the books of adoption were adopted in Odessa region, IA “Context-Prichernomorie” correspondent reports.

This was reported to the agency today, on November 18th, in the service of children affairs of Odessa regional government administration.

As it was noted in the press-service during 9 months of 2008 205 children were adopted from the total number of children that were on the books of adoption (in all there are 432 children on the books), that makes 47.5% from all children that are on the books.

Including 92 children were adopted by citizens of Ukraine, and 113 children were adopted by foreign citizens.

“As compared to 2007 there is a positive tendency observed concerning preference of the national adoption. In 2007 277 children were adopted including 106 by citizens of Ukraine, 171 by foreign citizens”, it was noted in the service.
