International conference Ethnic Culture in a Globalized World held in ONU

ODESA, FEBRUARY 4th, 2013, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― International conference Ethnic Culture in a Globalized World has been held 1-2 February at the Faculty of History of the Odesa National Mechnikov University, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The scientific ethnological student society reported today, 4 February.

As it was noted, 1-2 February, the International scientific conference Ethnic culture in a globalized world, organized by the Scientific Ethnological Student Society in support of the administration of the Faculty of the History was held. The event was dedicated to the 20th Anniversary of the Archeology And Ethnology Department.

Not only students and graduates of the Faculty of History, but the guests from other universities and research institutions of Ukraine, Russia, Belarus and Finland presented their academic achievements. The participants had the opportunity to listen the presentations on the preservation of regional variants of traditional culture, current issues of ethnology and related disciplines.

In the framework of the conference 20 reports were presented. The presentations and discussions covered the following scientific problems: the problem of fixation and preservation of local versions of traditional culture, the problem of transformation of ethnic culture in the Crimean Tatar anthroponymy and meal, its manifestation in international football, neo-paganism, urban architecture and the urban cultural societies. Special attention was also paid to the historiography of the variants of these problems.
