ODESA, FEBRUARY, 22nd, 2010, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – Euro-Asian Jewish Congress has awarded Governor of the Odesa Oblast Nikolay Serdyuk with a diploma, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The Diploma has been handed to the Governor today 22 February at the ceremony in the memory of Victims of Holocaust.

The document reads, Mr Nikolay Serdyuk was awarded the Order of Merit for the “contribution to the saving the memory of the victims of Nazism, prisoners of the Ghetto and concentration camps in the South-Western Ukraine as well as activities directed at strengthening relations between the nations.”

“This ward is very dear to me, the Governor said, as it came from the Righteous of the World. These are the people saving lives of Ukrainian Jews during World War II. These are great people!”
