A delegation from the Austrian capital visits Odesa Zoo

ODESA, NOVEMBER 12th, 2013, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― Municipal representatives of Vienna have visited Odesa Zoo during their visit to Odesa, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Odesa City Council Information office reported today, 12 November.

According to the information, Odesa supports and develops partnerships with the capital of the Republic of Austria ― Vienna, in particular, active cooperation with the Vienna municipal company TINA VIENNA Urban Technologies & Strategies GmbH since 2006.

The representatives of the Vienna company visited Odesa Zoo last week. The delegation included: Head of Viennas Parks and Gardens Department Joachim Chen, Project Manager of Tina Vienna Markus McDowell, project coordinator, Vienna architect Volkmar Palmer.

Odesa Zoo has recently been in contact with the oldest zoo in Europe ― Viennas Schönbrunn Zoo. Members of the visit were interested to learn that the fate of the two zoos is very similar, giving hope that the Odesa Zoo could reach the European level.

Director General of Municipal institution Odesa Zoological Park of national importance Igor Belyakov familiarized the guests with a collection of animals, talked about the future plans of prospects and development in the work of the zoo.

During a meeting with the managers and employees of the company TINA VIENNA Urban Technologies & Strategies GmbH, the agreement on the next visit to the Odessa Zoo was reached. It is scheduled for April 2014. Simultaneously with the visit of the Austrian company it is also expected the arrival of experts from the Vienna Zoo.
