Odesa takes 13th place in the rating of endangered cities of UN

ODESA, OCTOBER 25th, 2012, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― Odesa has taken 13th place in the rating of endangered cities of UN, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

As reported, this conclusion is based on the results of the last UN report on the state of cities for 2012-2013.

In particular, according to the UN analysts, Ukrainian city Dnipropetrovsk leads endangered cities of the world. In addition Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Kharkiv and Odesa also entered into the list. According to UN projections, the population of Dnepropetrovsk in 2025, compared with 1990, will be reduced by almost 17% (200 thousand people).

Experts rested on population data of 1990, the region's economic development and environmental protection.
