Seven rugby players of Odesa in the Ukrainian national rugby sevens team participate in the European Championship

ODESA, JUNE 15th, 2012, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― Seven rugby players of Odesa in the Ukrainian national rugby sevens team have gone to the Netherlands in order to participate in the European Championship, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of the Rugby Federation of Ukraine reported today, 15 June.

According to the press service, today, 15 June, Ukrainian women’s team went to the Dutch city of Ameland, where the 1st round of the European Rugby 7 Championship starts 16 June.

The head coach of the national team, Vladislav Storchak took 12 players to participate in the tournament. Among them are seven residents of Odesa, who are the champions of Ukraine, Odesa’s pride and joy. These are the team captain Olga Blanutsa and Maria Bondar, Anastasia Gontar, Marina Borodina, Yulia Grigorieva, Viktoria Ishchuk and Kateryna Oleksiuk.

Before flying to Ameland the team held training camp in Kiev.

The first round of the European Championship will be held over two days, where the Ukrainian girls will play seven matches.
