3 sportsmen of Odesa to play in the finals of the Polish Rugby Sevens Championships

ODESA, MAY 19th, 2011, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — 3 sportsmen of Odesa will be playing in the finals of the Polish Rugby Sevens Championships, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency has been informed about it today, 19 May, at the press service of the Odesa Oblast Rugby Federation.

According to the press service, the team Lechia Gdańsk, in which loaned three players of Odesa RC Credo-63 are playing, reached the final of the Championship of Poland.

“Oleksandr Polyansky, Evgen Chaika and Roman Kulakivsky are playing in the squad of the team from Gdansk. In the first stage Lechia took third place so 4 June they are to meet Arka Gdynia in the semi-final. The successful performance of the Polish team was largely the merit of our guys”, stressed in the press-service.

INFORMATION: Credo-63 rugby team was founded in 1963. It had different names – Avangard (1963-1964), Yanvarets (1967-1984), Pressmash (1985-1988), Krayan (1989-1991), Credo-63 (1991-1993), Credo-Yuzhrekon (1993-1995), Kosmos-Myagkov (2000-2002), Myagkov-Vitol (2003-2004). Since 2005 the team has been playing under its official name – Credo-63. Since 2008 the team’s main coach is Mike Bishop (Australia). The club usually hosts its domestic games at Spartak Stadium in Odesa.
