Odesa Regional Administration awards Paralympic athletes

ODESA, SEPTEMBER 21st, 2012, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE ― Odesa Regional Administration has awarded the athletes from Odesa Region who participated in XIV Paralympics in London, UK, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The ceremonial award giving was held today, 21 September1, at the Odesa Regional State Administration.

The awards were presented by the Governor of Odesa Region Eduard Matviychuk.

For winning the gold medal at the XIV Summer Paralympics in London, displaying courage, dedication and the will to win, great personal contribution to the establishment of the reputation and global recognition of Ukrainian sports, superior athletic skills the Honorary Decoration of the Odesa Regional State Administration was given to Master of Sports of Ukraine, Paralympic champion Ruslan Katyshev.

For significant contribution to the success of sportsmen of the Odesa region in the national team of Ukraine at the XIV Paralympic Games in London, the improvement of the system of training athletes, increasing their competitiveness in the global arena, the introduction of modern technology into the training process of high-class athletes Honorary Badge of the Odesa RSA was awarded to the honored coach of Ukraine in athletics, personal trainer of the Paralympic champion Ruslan Katyshev, Tetiana Orlova.

Viacheslav Gashibayazov of the Odesa Regional Centre of Physical Culture and Sports for the Disabled “Invasport” received a valuable prize ― Odesa Governor’s Nominal Watch.

In addition, Certificate of Merit of the Odesa Regional State Administration was given to ten athletes and coaches who participated in the XIV Paralympic Games in London.
