Nikolay Pavliuk: the overpass connecting the “Sukhoy” port with Odesa Merchant Sea Port to be finished by September

ODESA, MAY, 22nd, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – The construction of overpass No 5 connecting the “Sukhoy” port with Odesa Merchant Sea Port will be finished by the beginning of September, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports. Nikolay Pavliuk, Head of GE with Odesa Merchant Sea Port reported it today, 22 May. According to Mr. Pavliuk, the opening of the overpass will let the transport engaged in container operations move only on the circular road, “which will improve ecological situation in the city and lighten the traffic.” Mr. Pavliuk added, despite the crisis phenomena in the country and economy as well as other unpredictable difficulties the object will be finished in time. GE “Odesa Merchant Sea Port” is situated in the south-western part of Odesa bay on artificially made territory of 109.5 hectares area. The enterprise’s facilities allow processing more than 14 million tons of dry and 24 million tons of bulk cargo annually. The vessels of the length up to 270 metres and the draught under 13 metres are operated in the port. The total length of the berthage is more than 8 kilometres. |
