May 31 2011, 16:38

ODESA, MAY 31st, 2011, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE Vice president of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA), Vice-President of JSC Plaske Ivan Liptuga says the Federation has applied to the Presidential Administration to officially establish the International Forwarder Day in Ukraine, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Mr Liptuga announced it today 31 May, during during the conference Cargo Transportation between Europe and Asia with the Use of Transport Corridors in the Black Sea region.

Representatives of the transport industry have been celebrating the Day of the International Freight Forwarder for ten years in a row. Now we, together with the National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce, filed documents on the establishment of a Ukrainian official holiday Day of the International Freight Forwarder to the Presidential Administration. So, hopefully, next year it will be an official holiday in Ukraine, he said.

It is difficult to say how many freight forwarders we have, but, according to the freight forwarders associations, there are about 200 companies members of the two national associations of freight forwarders. These are companies offering services of freight forwarders at an international level. They are reliable and do not deceive foreign clients, Mr Liptuga added.
