Dry-cargo ship EMI LEADER designed by Odessa SEB, is floated at the Onega ship-building factory

ODESSA, SEPTEMBER, 15TH, 2008, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE Onega ship-building factory has floated the multi-purpose dry-cargo steam-ship EMI LEADER designed by the Odessa «Sea engineering bureau», IA Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency was informed about this today, on September, 15th, by the OSEB press-service.

It was noted in the press-service that the vessel belongs to the class of European «coasters», meeting the commercial and port requirements accepted for transportations between EU ports, with conventional length to 85 m, gross tonnage to 3000, one cargo hold and greatest possible deadweight for such vessels for today (nearby 4500).

The steam-ship is intended for sea transportations of general and bulk cargoes, including 20 and 40-foot containers of the international standard in height to 9 foots, metal, grain, wood, coal, large-sized and heavy cargoes, dangerous cargoes.

Vessel EMI LEADER has been put on March, 18th 2008.

INQUIRY: Open joint-stock company «Sea engineering bureau» was registered on March, 23, 1995 in Odessa. It was created by a group of scientific employees of shipbuilding faculty of the Odessa national sea university.

The Sea Engineering Bureau is engaged in development of pre-contract, classification projects, projects of «conversion», modernization and renewal of the vessels, the internal and mixed navigation, preparation of projects of increase of carrying capacity and capacity of containers of the vessels, development of ship programs and others.
