ODESSA, OCTOBER, 17TH, 2008, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – During 2007 700 people without a definite place of residence were registered in Odessa, IA “Context-Prichernomorie” correspondent reports.

This was reported today, on October 17th, during the round table with the representatives of SSP bodies on the subject: “Social and economic development of Odessa city” that took place within European week of local democracy by the head of Administration of social protection of population and labor of Odessa city council Ludmila Regulskaya.

“Unfortunately, many people that are called by this terrible word “homeless” come exactly to Odessa. The program of rendering and assisting help for homeless citizens is being carried out. During 2007 700 people that don’t have a definite place of residence but want to lead a normal way of life and use medical services and other social services were registered by us. But unfortunately, majority of homeless people don’t want to be legally registered though we don’t leave them without help anyway. For such people there is a social dining room where thousands of homeless people get hot meals, sanitary processing and warm clothes”, L. Regulskaya noted.
