ODESSA, NOVEMBER, 18TH, 2008, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – 7 thousand 77 children-orphans and children devoid of parental care live in Odessa region, IA “Context-Prichernomorie” correspondent reports.

This was reported to the agency today, on November 18th, in the service of children affairs of Odessa regional government administration.

According to the data of the service in all there are 488 thousand 838 children under 18 living in Odessa region, among them there are 7 thousand 77 children-orphans and children devoid of parental care. 4 thousand 388 children are brought up under parental care in the families.

4 thousand 408 children that appeared in trying life circumstances are registered in the service of children affairs, including 3 thousand 761 children that live in problem families, 454 children with deviant behavior, 170 children that went through violence in families, 213 children that regularly leave the place of permanent residence.

It was also reminded in the service that with the aim of solution of problems of homelessness, social and legal protection of children that are in difficult life circumstances and application of effective forms f their social support the financing of the Program of overcoming of child homelessness and neglect for 2006-2010 years was increased to 1 mln 714 thousand UAH by the decision of Odessa regional council from February 29th 2008.
