NIKOLAEV, NOVEMBER, 27TH, 2008, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – During the last week 21 traffic violations by the drivers of minibuses were fixed, the sum of fines made 9 thousand 620 UAH, IA “Context-Prichernomorie” correspondent reports.

This was reported to the agency today, on November 27th, in the press-service of the regional state traffic police.

The biggest number of violations is connected with the technical failure of minibuses – the traffic police officers drew up 6 reports by this article (the sum of fines is from 680 to 850 UAH).

Besides, the minibus drivers speeded and stopped in unfixed places 6 times (the fine is from 255 to 340 UAH). The drivers violated the rules of the crossing passing, moved to the red light and violated the rules of overtaking for three times.

As to the new rules they are called to discipline not only the drivers of the minibuses but also the heads of carrier companies, as it was noted in the press-service of the regional STP. The penalty for the enterprises is considerably toughened in the new administrative code. For example, the fine for officials for the allowance of drunk drivers to the line varies from 425 to 850 UAH. Another new article – “for violation of the labour and rest regime” – implies the fine for officials from 1 thousand 20 to 1 thousand 190 UAH. Though, most minibuses work according to the lease contracts with the city carriers and that means it will be problematic to apply penalty to them. As the transport vehicle is not on the balance of the enterprise but is let on lease.
