MYKOLAIV, DECEMBER, 20TH, 2008, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – Head of GE “Mykolaiv Merchant Sea Port” Vasyl Kapatsyna thinks the merger of Mykolaiv Merchant Sea Port and the Dnieper-Buh Merchant Port, finished by December, 12th, 2008, to have already given positive results, IA Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

V. Kapatsyna expressed such an opinion yesterday during his press-conference.

According to him, this merger caused a big stir all around it. There were also accusations of someone having “big interest” in it. However it has happened and we have obvious positive result: instead of the separate zones of responsibility of different enterprises making a crazy quilt, we now have a single zone of responsibility of one organization and one person – Master of Mykolaiv Merchant Sea Port – Pavel Riabchikov.

“Today the port inspection, previously belonging to Dnieper-Buh Merchant Port, is completely under the Master of Mykolaiv Merchant Sea Port. All the 60 staff members are employed on the same positions of merged ports inspection that on behalf of the Sate carries out navigation security control of all the subjects beginning with a foreign vessel and finishing with me – Head of the Port. The reorganization is a step forward from the point of view of administrative and economic functions”, — V. Kapatsyna stressed.
