MYKOLAIV, MARCH, 20th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – Consul General of the Republic of Poland to Ukraine Mr. Wesław Mazur and Consul of the Polish Consulate in Odesa Mr. Adam Adamczuk visited Mykolaiv, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency was informed about it today, 14 March at the press-service of Mykolaiv City Executive Committee.

Mr. Mazur is a regular guest of the city; he knows it and is interested in its development and economic potential. The envoy is interested in the steps the city makes to overcome the economic crisis.

Mr. Consul highly evaluated the efforts of the city authorities to perform the budget in 2008 and its social directedness. Mr. Mazur also expressed his gratitude to the Mayor’s office and the Mayor personally for the support of the Polish Community in Mykolaiv.

Mr. Chaika invited Mr. Mazur and Mr. Adamczuk to participate in celebration of the 65 Anniversary of Liberation of Mykolaiv from Fascists.

Diplomatic ties between Poland and Ukraine have been developing stably. By September an Office of the Consulate of Poland is to be opened in Sevastopol, and 23 – 25 April Odesa will hold Days of Poland.
