MYKOLAIV, MARCH, 24th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – In January – February the volume of building operations in Mykolaiv makes 54,5 million UAH or 29,9 percent from the volume of the same period in 2008, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

State Committee of Statistics in Mykolaiv Oblast informed the agency about it today, 24 March.

The cuts of building works have been observed in all the spheres of building activity: construction of buildings and structures – by 72,1 percent (their share in the total amount makes 87 percent); installation of engineering equipment in buildings and structures – by 42,6 percent; land preparation works – by 84,1 percent; finishing works – by 32,9 percent.

Among the civil and erection works the reduction was observed in: power, exploration and production enterprises – by 13,2 percent; bridge, tunnel, and overpass construction – by 60,3 percent; buildings – by 68,7 percent; local pipe lines, communication systems, and power supply lines – by 69,9 percent.

Significant cuts in the cities of Mykolaiv (74 percent) and Yuzhnoukrainsk (48,8 percent) had a great impact on the total reduction process.
