MYKOLAIV, APRIL, 18th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – The largest in the history of the Yuzhny port vessel was piloted by GE Delta-Pilot pilot, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency was informed about it today, 18 April, by the press-service of GE Delta-Pilot.

A dry cargo “Mersedes” (port of Valetta), over 133 thousand tons deadweight, 268 metres length, 43 metres width, called in the port of Yuzhny 16 April.

The ship is to be loaded with 103 tons of iron-ore concentrate. She was piloted by Gennadiy Kulakovskiy and Alexandr Shelud’ko – First-class pilots.

“The pilots had to apply all their skills and experience. The vessel was moored by fresh breeze and cross flow. In addition, no vessel of the same size ever entered the port of Yuzhny”, — Chief of Pilot Station Yuzhny, Viktor Pilipenko said.
