Presidential Envoy: Timoshenko offers Putin to change the routes of Russian oil transportation from Odesa-Brody to Akhtyrka-Odesa
16:25 / 27.04.2009

ODESA, APRIL, 27th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – Representative of the President of Ukraine for Foreign Affairs in Energetic Safety, Bogdan Sokolovsky stated Timoshenko offers Putin to change the routes of Russian oil transportation from Odesa-Brody to Akhtyrka-Odesa, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

As the agency was informed at the press-service of the President, Mr. Sokolovsky stated it today, 27 April, at the briefing.

“As you know, in July, 2008 the government blocked this presidential Order (Presidential Order No 474 dated 22 May, 2008 – edit.), spreading rumours about supposedly corruption intentions of the Private Group being supported by the Presidential Secretariat. Today the government has contradicted itself since they no more conceal their favourable attitude to the Private Group so they no more put forward groundless blames”, said Bogdan Sokolovsky.

“In addition, according to the preliminary data in March 2009 the Premier Yulia Timoshenko was reported to have addressed Russian Premier Vladimir Putin with a confidential letter offering to jointly use the Odesa-Brody pipe-line and to change reversely the transportation of Russian oil by shorter route – Akhtyrka-Odesa”, — he reported.
