ODESA, MAY, 26th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – Mayor of Odesa, Eduard Gurvits thinks Grigory Surkis is the main person to blame, Odesa remains without EURO 2012, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Eduard Gurvits stated it today, 26 May, talking to journalists.

“We have received a reply from the UEFA being strictly formal. The only thing to consider in this case is the fact the decision was made taking into account the opinions of national federations. So I believe the main person to be blamed is Mr. Surkis”, — Mayor said.

As Context-Prichernomorie reported before, 13 May in Bucharest President of European Football Union, Michel Platini announced UEFA’s decision saying Odesa was not included into the list of host-cities of EURO 2012 Football Championship. According to a number of media, Platini declared the final decision of the UEFA is as follows: the cities of Ukraine and Poland divided 4x4. Ukrainian host-cities will be: Kyiv, Lviv, Donetsk, and Kharkiv.
