KHERSON, JUNE, 18th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – The amount of sea and river transportation in Kherson Oblast has fallen by 31 percent in 5 months of 2009, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency was informed about it today, 18 June at the Chief Administration of Statistics in Kherson Oblast.

According to the source, all in all the consignees received 302 thousand 700 tons of cargoes.

In 2009, river transport companies cut the amount of transportations by 32,4 percent as compared with January-May, and maritime transport – by 29,1 percent.

The volume of cargo operations in the ports and industrial moors fell by 22,2 percent making 1 million 812 thousand 700 tons.

The volume of export operations increased by 75,2 percent.

The amount of operations on imported cargoes fell by 69,8 percent, transit – 64,4 percent, cargoes for domestic delivery – by 65 percent.
