ODESA, JULY, 7th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – GE Yuzhny Merchant Sea Port exceeded the first half-year cargo turnover plan 2009 by 9,1 percent, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency was informed about it today, 7 July at the press-service of the port.

According to the press-service, for the first six months of 2009 the cargo turnover made 9 million 244 thousand 400 tons, the amount of cargo operations made 6 million 836 thousand 300 tons which exceeds the planned indices by 9,1 and 14,1 percent respectively.

For the stated period the port managed to operate 401 vessels and 90 thousand 840 gondola cars.

INFORMATION: Yuzhny Merchant Sea Port is situated in the North-West area of the Black Sea, on the ice-free Adzhalykskiy Liman and is a cargo operation turnover leader (20 million 698 thousand 600 tons in 2005). Main transportation directions: the Black Sea and the Mediterranean basins, the USA, Latin America, Middle East, South-Eastern Asia. All cargo, storage and auxiliary operations are carried out in the port. There work specialized complexes in the port for operation of mineral fertilizers, liquid chemicals, export overload berths for general and bulk cargoes.
