ODESA, AUGUST, 3rd, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – Deputy Head of State Administration for Sea and River Transport Viktor Sudarev stated M/V Beriks’s crew would have to recover their salaries at court, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.
Mr. Sudarev stated it today, 3 August at a press-conference.
“The crew was changing for the period when the vessel had left the port of Poti, Georgia. All in all there were 20 people. By the moment the vessel berthed there were 8 people. Their working relationships faced certain problems, because their employer is no one knows where. The ship-owner conferring the authority on themselves, was actually to break relations with the charterer concerning the vessel. So the people would perhaps to go to court to recover their salaries”, — he said.
“It is the charterer who should be responsible. He will be found and will have to pay this money”, — Mr. Sudarev finished.
