ODESA, AUGUST, 4th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – Port of Yuzhny exceeded 7-month cargo operations plan 2009 by 15,4 percent, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency was informed about it today, 4 August at the port’s press-service.

According to the press-service, the cargo turnover for January-July 2009 made 10 million 826 thousand 400 tons, i.d. 109,1 percent to the plan. Cargo operations amounted to 8 million 79 thousand 700 tons or 115,4 percent to the plan.

During the stated period the port operated 447 vessels 101 thousand 447 gondola cars.

At the same time, in July the port’s cargo turnover made 1 million 602 thousand tons, and cargo operations 1 million 242 thousand 500 tons. In July the port operated 46 vessels and 10 thousand 606 gondola cars.

INFORMATION: Yuzhny Merchant Sea Port is situated in the North-West area of the Black Sea, on the ice-free Adzhalykskiy Liman and is a cargo operation turnover leader (20 million 698 thousand 600 tons in 2005). Main transportation directions: the Black Sea and the Mediterranean basins, the USA, Latin America, Middle East, South-Eastern Asia. All cargo, storage and auxiliary operations are carried out in the port. There work specialized complexes in the port for operation of mineral fertilizers, liquid chemicals, export overload berths for general and bulk cargoes.
