Mykolaiv Oblast imports 34 percent less during the last six months

MYKOLAIV, AUGUST, 20th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – Through the period of January-June 2009 the volume of import to the Oblast fell by 34 percent compared to the same period in 2008 totally making 305 million US dollars, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency was informed about it today, 19 August at the State Committee of Statistics in Mykolaiv Oblast.

Goods were imported from 70 countries to 168 enterprises of the Oblast mainly from Russia (31 percent of the entire amount), Guinea (13 percent), Belarus and Guyana (7 percent each), China and Brazil (5 percent each).

Concerning the export, goods amounting to over 646 million US dollars were exported to other countries, that is, 3 percent less compared to the same period in 2008. The export volumes decreased due to the fall of non-organic chemicals export reduction, non- precious metals and products made of them, and ready-made food products. As for the import, it suffered certain reduction too since there had been a significant decrease in automobile and road equipment import, as well as mineral and ready-made food products and products of animal fat origin.
