Keel-laying of a ship designed by MEB takes place at Yaroslavsky Shipyard

ODESA, AUGUST, 28th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – Keel-laying of a ship designed by MEB took place at Yaroslavsky Shipyard, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency was informed about it today 28 August.

This is a seagoing diver support ship with diving support capacity up to 60 metres for providing assistance in survey, rescuing, ship-lifting and other underwater operations as far as the vessel’s equipment allows.

Her length is 38.35 m, width – 7.92 m, speed – 11 knots, and self-endurance up to 5 days.

This is the first out of series of special-purpose ships for Federal Agency of Sea and River Transport of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation.

INFORMATION: OJSC “Marine Engineering Bureau” was registered on March, 23rd, 1995 in Odesa, Ukraine. It was founded by a group of scientists of the Shipbuilding Department, Odesa National Maritime University. OJSC “Marine Engineering Bureau” works out pre-contract classification projects, projects of “conversion”, upgrade and renewal of sea vessels for internal and mixed journeys. They also prepare projects for increasing carrying and container capacities of ships and other related work.
