ODESA, SEPTEMBER, 11th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – Investors In People Ukraine Coordinator Olga Revina has stated being awarded Investors In People Certificate is an opportunity to declare Odesa Port is the leading enterprise, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Mrs. Revina stated it today 11 September during the ceremony of award giving.

In particular she said: “whatever high technology and equipment the company says, it is exactly people that make it successful.”

“The sense of the standard is in harmonizing the work of the company’s managers and employees the way they reach the tasks set more efficiently. The main point in the Investors In People system is to build the human management system in such a way to be competitive today, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. The system itself is a practical tool allowing any company to review how correctly they manage people. As of today the port employs 4 thousand people, but even if tomorrow it employs 8 thousand, it will occupy competitive positions too”, she said.

As it was previously reported, GE Commercial Sea Port of Odesa had been awarded Investors in People International Quality Certificate being the first company in Ukraine to have achieved it.

INFORMATION: GE Commercial Sea Port of Odesa is situated in the south-western part of Odesa bay on artificially made territory of 109.5 hectares area. The enterprise’s facilities allow processing more than 14 million tons of dry and 24 million tons of bulk cargo annually. The vessels of the length up to 270 metres and the draught under 13 metres are operated in the port. The total length of the berthage is more than 8 kilometres.
