ODESA, SEPTEMBER, 11th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – Today in the morning the personnel and the trade unions of the Governmental Enterprise Commercial Sea Port of Illichivsk have held a picket near the building of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Ukraine demanding to settle the conflict between the port and Ukrtranscontainer, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency was informed about it today 11 September at the press-service of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Ukraine.

According to the press-service, the picketers have been demanding to put a dot in their argument concerning the agreement between the port and the company Ukratranscontainer signed in 2005.

The protest actions was held in connection with the Judgment of the Supreme Commercial Court dated 26 August 2009 cancelling the previous Judgments of Commercial Court of Odesa Oblast dated 12 May 2009 and Odesa Commercial Court of Appeals dated 26 June abrogating the agreement on cooperation.

First Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Vasyl Shevchenko met the picketers.

“The Ministry’s position is distinct and clear, and we have no intention to change it. We are going to fight for the interests of the state together with you, that means both the interests of the port and its personnel”, the official said.
