The 3000th vessel navigates through the Bystroye Channel

ODESA, SEPTEMBER, 16th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – Today, 16 September 2009, the 3000th vessel has navigated through the Bystroye Channel, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency was informed about it today, 16 September at the press-service of GE Delta-Pilot.

According to their press-service, dry-cargo vessel Aksoy, flag of Liberia, sailed carrying over 6 thousand tons of iron-ore concentrate onboard from Burgas, Bulgaria, to Galati, Romania.

M/V has got the following parameters: length – 139.75 m, width – 16.4 m, draught – 4.8 m, and is one of the vessels shuttling on the route Burgas-Galati. The line was opened in July 2009 by Arcelor Mittal.

“We have reasons to think today Ukrainian part of the International Transport Corridor No 7 has been operating well and is the main part of the international transport arteria. And the main thing is the palm in economic competition in the lower part of the Danube eventually but stably returns to Ukraine”, — Aleksander Golodnitsky, Direcotr of GE Delta-Pilot stated.

“It is not accidental international companies prefer the Ukrainian Channel. The Bystroye Channel provides both-way and all-day-round navigation. Plus the Ukrainian variant of the exit from the Danube to the Black Sea, international experts believe, is notable for a safer navigability”, — they stressed in the press-service.
