Illichivsk Port’s personnel picketing the General Prosecutor’s Office

ODESA, SEPTEMBER, 16th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – Personnel of Commercial Sea Port of Illichivsk are now picketing the General Prosecutor’s Office, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Head of the Trade Union at Illichivsk Commercial Sea Port Sergey Bryzgalov informed the agency about it today 16 September.

As he reported, the port’s employees demand the Prosecutor’s Office to appeal to the Supreme Court of Ukraine against the Judgment of the Supreme Commercial Court dated 26 August. The deadline for that is 26 September.

“It has been 22 days since the Supreme Commercial Court made its judgment and the Prosecutor’s Office haven’t had any effort to prepare the appeal. 6 days ago, on Friday, we handed them our address, the Prosecutor’s Office doesn’t do anything. We can reload 100 thousand tonnes of cargo in two days, while they cannot prepare an appeal in six days. It takes a qualified lawyers 2 hours”, Mr. Bryzgalov stated.

“We are staying hear by the building all day, and we will be staying tomorrow. There so far 10 of us. But if nothing changes tomorrow there will be hundreds of us standing”, he stressed.
