ODESA, SEPTEMBER, 18th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – 12 September the pilots of GE Delta-Pilot finished pilotage of the unfinished multipurpose ice-breaking supply vessel from Kherson to the roads of the Commercial Sea Prot of Yuzhny, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency was informed about it today 18 September at the press-service of GE Delta-Pilot.

According to their press-service, the operation was planned and trained in advance in Delta-Pilot training centre.

The 167 metres long hull passed along the route 128 being km long up to the roads of the Commercial Sea Port of Yuzhny. The object was tugged by two ships.

This pilotage along the Kherson Channel has no analogues. It is unique for the reason of great windage of the object, as well as its draught being maximum for the channel. Suchlike objects are not simply uncontrolled. They have lines, the keel, however they don’t have a propeller, so it is really complicated to make the vessel change her course, the press-service informed.
